Blessed forgiveness

Psa 32:1

Morning Meditation 6/3/2015

Psalms 32:1,”Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."

THE PROVISION OF FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing. This is a Psalm that sets forth the blessedness of forgiveness. It is blessed because of the price that was paid to obtain it. Jesus paid the price. There is no forgiveness apart from the cross. This means that all the religions of the world will live and die without the forgiveness of their sins.

Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

FORGIVENESS IS OBTAINABLE

There is a universal call to salvation. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. If man is not saved it is his fault. The Bible says that man is without excuse (Rom 1:20). Jesus was crucified between two thieves. At the beginning of the crucifixion both thieves railed on Jesus mocking Him. But in the end one of the thieves changed his mind. Luke 23:42-43, "And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Sin cannot keep you from forgiveness. The thief on the cross prayed a simple prayer and Jesus responded with the words “Today thou shalt be with me in paradise.” John emphasizes the same truth: 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Millions have been saved simply by calling on the name of the Lord. Psalms 32, "...Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."

May the Lord bless you with His infinite forgiveness.

In Christ
