CHRISTIANS AS SENT ONES

John 17:18

Morning Meditation 12/19/2012

John 17:18, "As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world."

JESUS WAS SENT BY THE FATHER

John 20:21, "Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you."

Jesus came here on a mission. He was sent by the Father to redeem mankind. He fulfilled his mission perfectly. He made it possible for all mankind to be saved. John 12:32, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."

HE WAS SENT IN LOVE BY THE FATHER

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

We as believers are sent by Christ to preach the Love of God to a lost world. God loves the world and is ready to save all who will come to Him in repentance and faith in Christ.

HE WAS SENT TO REVEAL THE FATHER

John 17:6, "I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word."

John 1:18, "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

The word “declared” means “To lead out or to make known.” We get our word exegesis from this word. Jesus made the invisible God visible.

John 14:7-10, "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

HE WAS SENT TO DECLARE THE WORD OF GOD

John 17:8, "For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me."

What Jesus said is the Word of God. Jesus faithfully told us all the Father told Him to tell us.

HE WAS SENT TO GIVE HIS LIFE ON THE CROSS FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD

John 10:15, "As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep."

John 10:18, "No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

We are sent with this glorious message of grace and we offer salvation to everyone who hears the message.

Jesus is willing to save. Are you willing to receive Him as your personal Saviour? If so, bow your head and ask His forgiveness and receive Him into your life as your personal Saviour.

May the Lord bless these words to our hearts.
