THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS

Acts 10:43

Morning Meditation 2/26/2013

Acts 10:43, "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

The conclusion of Peter’s sermon

Peter is bringing his message to a close. The Centurion is listening as Peter preaches the gospel. The Romans were hated by the Jews. Peter had to overcome his prejudice to offer salvation to a Gentile. But God had dealt with Peter in a vision and made it plain that the gospel was for the Gentiles as well as for the Jews.

It is easy for us to fall into that same sin. The gospel is to be offered to all men regardless of their racial background.

THE MESSAGE IS UNIVERSAL

“To whom give all the prophets witness. . .” The message is not reserved for a select few. 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

John 12:32: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

FORGIVENESS IS OFFERED TO ALL

Acts 13:38: “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:”

Eph.1:7: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

What man is there that does not need the forgiveness of sins. This means when we stand before God we stand as forgiven sinners. Hallelujah Someone hold my mules!!!

May the Lord bless these words to our hearts

In Christ
