Junior Church is for children aged 4-years old through 10-years-old and is held
at the same time as our regular Sunday morning preaching service from 11:00 A.M. until
noon. Nathan and Nicole Brackett are the leaders.
The aim of Junior Church is to get the boys and girls to come to know Jesus Christ
as their Saviour and then to grow in Him. Services are taught using a variety of
youth-oriented tools such as songs, object lessons, puppets, balloons, and skits.
Every Sunday, a chapter from the Bible is acted out using props with various members
of the group. Time permitting, the service usually includes a Bible review game
between the boys and the girls where Bible questions are asked of each group with
points scored.

The name "Awana" is an acronym for "Approved Workmen Are Not
Ashamed" referring to 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be a shamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".
The Awana Clubs are offered to our youth from preschool through the 6th grade. It
meets in our Family Life Center each Wednesday night from 7:00 P.M. until 8:15 P.M.
September through May.
At Gantt Street Baptist Church we offer several different Awana programs: Cubbies, Sparks,
Truth and Training. Each of these groups are geared to present the gospel of Jesus
Christ in an age appropriate manner through a Bible lesson, home study, daily quite
time and scripture memory. In addition to the classroom, there is an exciting game
time in our gym.
